Keeping Weld and Laramie Counties strong through local energy investment, long-term economic benefits, and respect for land and community

For more than a century, Weld and Laramie Counties have powered the region through responsible agriculture and energy production. Chalk Bluffs Energy is designed to build on that legacy — a 728-megawatt energy facility with integrated battery storage that strengthens local grid reliability, supports existing energy industries, and anchors long-term economic growth.

Our approach begins with landowners and local leadership: protecting property rights, minimizing impacts, and ensuring the project fits the character and priorities of the region.

Chalk Bluffs Energy is about keeping energy production — and its benefits — local, reliable, and under the community’s control for decades to come.

About the Project

Private Land Ownership: 97% of the project land is leased through long-term agreements with private landowners.

Land Use: Current land uses can continue with the new energy infrastructure. The project is situated around and coordinating with existing oil and gas operations.

Energy Purchasers: America is currently facing unprecedented demand for energy, Chalk Bluffs is expected to provide power to meet demand from regional grid users.

Roads: The project will pay for improvements to county roads where needed and it will rely primarily on private roads. Noise, dust, and traffic mitigation plans will be implemented with community feedback.

Water: No effect to existing water infrastructure or wells. Water associated with the land stays with the land. Small amount required during construction.

Proposed project timeline: Construction expected to begin fall 2027 and operational by 2029.

Location: Northern Weld County, CO and southern Laramie County, WY in between US 85 and SH 390.

Developer: Enyo Energy
