Community Benefits
Homegrown energy with lasting local benefits
The proposed Chalk Bluffs project will generate significant new and diversified tax revenue at the local, regional, and state levels—driving long-term economic growth, creating good-paying jobs, and providing guaranteed, resilient cash flow to local schools and municipalities for decades to come.
All while delivering homegrown, “All of the Above” energy that supports the nation’s goals for independence and security.
Driving economic growth
New energy projects spur direct jobs and spending and create ripple effects as suppliers ramp up activity and households spend project-related income throughout the region. The diversified energy and tax revenue makes the region more resilient to the booms and busts in any given energy source.
Economic Benefits
Weld County: Economic Benefits
Weld County is a leader in energy generation and “All of the Above” economy, and the Chalk Bluffs Energy Project will further that leadership while encouraging economic growth and new job opportunities. Tax revenue from Chalk Bluffs will diversify the County’s tax base and strengthen its bottom line, including for the RE-12 Pawnee and RE-9 Weld school districts - providing important long-term funding with little to no impact on education demand or the need for new services.

A brighter Future, for future generations
Chalk Bluffs Energy is excited about the opportunity to infuse new revenue into Weld County and Laramie County school districts, contributing to the positive education of future generations.
A total estimated $22.2M in property tax revenue would flow to school districts within the project area over 30 years.
Chalk Bluffs and Enyo Energy is also pleased to support future generations with a donation to the Bright Futures organization.
Laramie County: Economic Benefits
Like Weld County, Laramie County is fortunate to have abundant resources to help lead the region and the nation in meeting growing energy needs - and that leadership brings significant benefits. The proposed project will spur economic growth and new high-skilled local jobs, and will add diversified tax revenue that hedges against swings in other revenue, without the need for new services. Tax revenues will also flow into Rural School District 1, providing important revenue while producing little to no impact on education demand.
